Lipoma surgery issues

Post by False » Wed Jul 12, 2017 11:17 pm

Just had three removed from arm and now having some serious nerve pain in my arm along with numbness. Anyone deal with this or have any tips. I knew I would get a scar but this is more pain that the lipoma ever was.

Yes, I couldn't straighten my arm for about 5 weeks due to the surgery and the pain went all the way down my arm when I tried to do it. Also rubbing the skin on my forearm caused the pain. I guess it had to do with haematoma from the surgery around the tendon. I couldn't do anything against it other than just wait.

How large were the 3 that were removed? Cost? Couldn't have more than 3 removed at the same time?

I had two removed then three removed. The pain has been better but when they took three they definitely hit a nerve. I wish I was warned because I would have probably not done the surgery, I was only cautioned about scars. The pain was brutal.

I had similar experience after surgery. It went away with time.

Likely some damage to a small cutaneous nerve. This should generally resolve over 4-6 months but rarely may leave permanent numbness or sensitivity if a nerve was transected.
